Blue Door

When Wishing Is Waiting

Strange partner in my mind,
I know you,
But I don’t understand you.
Yet, I am you.
And I sit in my corner, wishing.
That when I open my eyes,
The corner will be gone.
My partner says,
“Grip your wish, like life and
With waiting, the two will become
One.”

But where have all the wishes gone?
Majority of days,
Majority of times,
Wishing.
Oh, perfect partner, where am I?
My map of wishes has left me lost
And its comfort blanket is of no use
In this hot, parched landscape
Where so much time has passed,
That I wonder if I have
Too.

I melt like tears in the hot sun
“There is more,”
Says a voice tiptoeing through my mind.
To wish, is sweet.
To wait is, perhaps, noble
But sweetness evaporates,
When wishing is waiting.
But it is not for us to wait
It is for us to find what is waiting
Deep in the cool canyon,
Behind the door,

All of our wishes.
