Do You Love Life?
I was writing my endless scripture of troubles,
The Gospel According to Jude.
The Obscure.
The Patron Saint of Lost Causes.
But then I go running
And it is uncomfortable
And exhilarating at the same time.
I am so full of those two feelings
That my Troubles are lost
They are trying to keep up
And they will find me eventually,
But for now their absence leaves me with,
An Image:
I run to the top of a hill on a warm day.
The breeze is cool and the scene is wonderment.
If any Place should know, it is here.
Expectantly, I shout,
“Do you love life?”
As it dies across the wind,
I already know.
There is no answer.
Because, really, there is no longer any question.
Now, I feel.
It is beautiful, all of it, everything.
It has shared with me its unhidden secrets –
That just like this Place,
I am Life.
