Underground Gold

In the faint whispers of eavesdropped conversations, I heard the words “gold” and “under the church”. I suspected the church had a stash of valuables made of gold in its basement. Over some time, I picked up more clues, such as “escalator” and “breathtaking” and “free for all”. This caught my interest, especially since times were tough and what kind of person would not go after free gold? Perhaps it is too good to be true.

As I neared the notorious place, I became excited when I saw the “Church Street” escalator sign leading to the underground. I guess there was no church, just a church street, but I suppose that was just a mix up in what I thought I had overheard. Standing at the top of the escalator, I looked down and realized what the whispers were really about. The joke was on me. I turned to leave before anyone could identify my shame. In my turn, my thoughts turned with me, where on earth do you find an underground field of gold flowers? Amazing. It is good to be true.
