Such a sunset had never been seen and for the very first time everyone in the city came to witness it. Buses stopped, hospital patients were wheeled near windows, even about-to-commit-a-crime thieves paused, all to see this sunset that was so very different than the usual, consistent, steady fade of bluish-gray to black. In a collective hush of breaths being held, color and vibrancy reached its climax before taking a well deserved bow. Then, the most amazing thing happened, a little girl, who was often brushed off as insignificant, started to clap and it spread so fast that before you knew it a thunder of applause was heard around the city.
