We walked to the end of the pier in silence. I turned my back to Logan and gazed out toward the boat sailing through the thick fog. After a few moments I heard a splash and then some commotion. I turned around and several people were gathered and pointing in the water. I scanned the other people on the pier and I did not see Logan. I rushed over near the crowd of people and there in the water was Logan, swimming away from the pier.
“Logan! What are you doing!?” I shouted.
“Swimming.” He sputtered back to me, avoiding my gaze. I hesitated. I glanced around at the people staring at me.
“Why are you swimming?” I shouted.
“To get away from you.” said Logan and he plunged his head under water and continued swimming away.
